Who are you?
I'm Jo, I'm the Senior Marketing Manager at Fanbytes. I joined as a Marketing Manager in April 2021 and was promoted in January 2022. Prior to Fanbytes, I spent 3 and a half years at a new business agency in Shoreditch, working with agency clients like Little Dot Studios, Green Park Content, iD and HeyHuman on their B2B marketing strategies. Before that, I started my career on the graduate scheme at comparethemarket.com where I worked across digital, social media, brand and communications - as well as spending 6 months in their Paris office!
Tell us 3 things you're responsible for in your role...
My role is very varied and I get involved in pretty much every channel and project across the marketing team. Three of my key responsibilities include:
- Coming up with strategies and ideas to help us reach and engage potential clients (brands). This includes content (whitepapers, reports, social content, blogs), videos, case studies and events. I'll then create this content alongside the rest of the team and ensure it gets in front of our audience.
- CRM & Email marketing: I manage our Hubspot database and marketing reporting, making sure that we're tracking all our marketing activity and communicating what's working and what isn't.
- Business Development: I provide the bridge between the Sales & Marketing team, working closely with Business Development Execs, Brand Partnerships Managers and the Creative Strategy team to ensure alignment.
What do you do outside of Fanbytes?
I love staying active and play netball twice a week in Angel and Shoreditch. I also try to fit in a spin class and a pilates/barre class every week! I'm also a big foodie and love trying out new restaurants and recipes at home. And I love to read - my ideal Sunday would be exploring a new area of London, visiting a museum or exhibition, trying out a new restaurant, then finishing my latest book with a big glass of red wine.
Who is your favourite content creator?
I mainly follow foodie and author accounts on Instagram - I love TikTok but don't really follow specific creators! I really respect Dr Alex George and what he's doing for mental health awareness, Lisa Eldridge and Chloe Morello for beauty tips, and then Elizabeth Day and Pandora Sykes for general commentary and lifestyle.
