Emma Parrish
Head of People – Leadership TeamWho are you?
Hey! I’m Emma, originally from Hayes & Harlington in West London. I studied Film & Theatre at the University of Reading with dreams to become a film director...a creative, old soul at heart with a passion for caring and nurturing others.
I am Head of People at Fanbytes, and have previously worked in both the hospitality and education sectors. I love nothing more than keeping everyone happy, and making sure that we’re having fun at work - after all, if we’ve got to work, why not make it fun?
Tell us 3 things you're responsible for in your role...
I’m responsible for enabling Fanbyters to flourish and for the Fanbyter Lifecycle as a whole: Attraction, Recruitment, Onboarding, Performance Management, Engagement, Learning & Development, Reward, Exit and Alumni. I ensure that Fanbyters feel cared for and that they are helping the business to grow and scale, as well as keeping it risk-free.
What do you do outside of Fanbytes?
Lots of things! I love reading (contemporary fiction mostly, swapping books with my besties), going to the cinema (hello Wes Anderson!) and the theatre (gimme anything at the National), long country walks with our working cocker spaniel, Monty, and finishing up in a cosy pub.
Who is your favourite content creator?
I would say because I’m a classic, millennial, gorgeous gorgeous girl, it’s going to have to be @steffy, @noelledowning and @kjp - I’m a sucker for a seasonal aesthetic.
What advice would you give to someone applying to Fanbytes?
My biggest piece of advice to anyone, not just someone applying to Fanbytes, is to be your natural self. Personally, I love quirkiness, silliness, and authenticity. Fanbytes is made up of a tapestry of wonderful people, and our individualism is always a value-add.
