Fanbytes is an award-winning Gen Z marketing agency, on a mission to help brands win the hearts of Gen Z. We're really proud of our impact and growth over the last few years. Especially more recently, our CEO, Timothy Armoo was honoured with a Forbes 30 Under 30 accolade.

As a leader in this field, we offer our clients unparalleled access to the Gen Z audience. We combine technology and insights to provide influencer programmes, performance marketing, strategy, creativity and digital marketing to create highly effective marketing campaigns that enable brands to reach this hard-to-reach demographic. Along with our flagship influencer programmes and marketing services, we have built a number of unique IP setting the gold standard for Gen Z media agencies, including:

  • Bytesized Talent - a talent agency exclusively managing the biggest stars on Tiktok. This allows us to build long term ambassador programs with brands
  • Bytehouse - the UK’s first ever Tiktok house which received global press as the first of its kind
  • Fanbytes Fund - a fund that runs influencer marketing campaigns for black-owned businesses using black creators seeking to elevate the voices of black and diverse creators.

Now with a team of 50, and exciting growth plans, we are looking to reinforce the foundations of our people experience to ensure that we are not only scalable, but an exciting and engaging place to work.

This brand new role comes off the back of continued growth and another record year at Fanbytes, and involves working right a the beating heart of our company - our people and our culture. 

We are looking for an energetic and proactive person to help ensure we are one of the most progressive and fun places to work, and continue to attract the best in the business. Working closely with the senior leadership team, we want this role to create and collaborate on all sorts of innovative culture projects.

About the role:

🚀Leadership

  • Acting as a trusted advisor to the Leadership team
  • Building and leading a People & Culture team as we grow (there is currently one HR Officer, and we’ve been working with Unleashed to create our foundations.

🏗️Operations

  • Moving the chess pieces of the business to optimise operational efficiency
  • Implement efficient processes and standards across all business units
  • Report on operational performance and suggest improvements
  • Oversee resource related budgeting to help Fanbytes optimise costs

📐Organisational design

  • Working with the leadership team to ensure the right people are in the right roles at the right time 
  • Help design the evolution of the organisation to support growth and scaling up as we move at pace - anchored by our 2021 strategy “Bigger, Fewer, Better.”

✨Employee experience and engagement

  • Building on our internal processes around onboarding, performance enablement, talent & success planning so that every interaction is of the highest quality
  • Utilising ongoing employee insights and feedback (from our team engagement surveys) to guide the business, so any resulting actions lead to high team engagement and commitment
  • Coaching, supporting and guiding managers at all levels within the business (including providing support on ER issues.)
  • Acting as culture and values champion and advocate - working closely with our Director of Brand and Communications to ensure the Fanbytes brand is being cultivated from the inside out, and that we're building an army of happy ambassadors 
  • Leading on internal communication

  • Overseeing stellar and scalable talent acquisition processes so all candidates have an exceptional experience 
  • Continuing to build our Employer Brand so great Talent is attracted to Fanbytes
  • Owning the Fanbytes hiring plan
  • Ensuring Fanbytes is compliant on all aspects of employment law including owing the sponsorship process to attract and hire international talent

  • Owning our internal learning programme, Fanbytes University, to ensure our people have access to great growth and learning opportunities to enable high performance and to support them to achieve their goals

The role will also involve coaching our HR Officer to success in:

  • Building on our internal processes around onboarding, hiring and building our employer brand 
  • Utilising ongoing employee insights and feedback to guide the business, so any resulting actions lead to high team engagement and commitment
  • Coaching, supporting and guiding managers at all levels within the business
  • Owning the development of our People + Culture Handbook

 

Our ideal candidate:

  • Strong experience in a Head of People role previously in a scaling business - you will need to know what great looks like when it comes to a People function!
  • Qualification in a relevant degree such as human resources, organisational psychology. CIPD qualifications are not essential if you have the relevant experience / can demonstrate qualification by experience
  • Have the ability to work with diverse groups of people and create alignment inline with business strategy 
  • A strong People generalist background with experience of the full employee lifecycle
  • A track record of influencing and advising leadership and management on employment matters (including ER) 
  • Good working knowledge and experience of UK employment legislation and the application of this
  • Strong EQ, with great interpersonal and communication abilities (written and oral); skilled in communicating with diverse settings, both 1:1 and in large groups
  • Be a strategic thinker with hands-on style (not afraid to get your hands dirty!) to deliver practical and effective People and culture solutions
  • Positivity, enthusiasm, self-motivation, and commitment
  • Drive, flexibility, tact and patience; especially, under pressure in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
